Madhya Pradesh Sustainable Agriculture Project – Synergizing Policies and Actions (MPSAP-SPA) sustainability of the sector, along with food and nutrition security. It aims to pursue the key recommendations of Dalwai Committee Report – Doubling Farmers’ Income (DCR-DFI), within the frameworks of National Mission for Sustainable Agriculture (NMSA) and National Mission on Natural Farming (NMNF).
As part of the project, FOLU India along with WRI India, supports Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development Department (FW&ADD) with the aim of transforming resource-intensive agriculture in the state. It draws on the available resources and implementation modalities under various programmes and statutes of the government, including NMNF but not limited to it. The project will align the existing governance mechanisms of agriculture and other related departments, including State Rural Livelihood Mission, Horticulture & Food Processing Department, Animal Husbandry & Dairy Department, Water Resources Department, Rural Development Department, and Mandi Board. Based on the experience of the programme, by 2030, the state government may develop guiding frameworks that will motivate other states to adopt this government-led transformation towards sustainable agriculture.
